KOHLER: Emily Henderson's Portland Remodel

Designing a home is a little like creating a magical mirror—one that reflects the styles and personalities of its owners. But what if there is no owner? Whose personality do you capture? That was the challenge designer Emily Henderson confronted when given the opportunity to update a vacant home waiting to be sold in an upscale Portland, Oregon, neighborhood. The goal: appeal to everyone without becoming so devoid of character that it appealed to no one.
